The arrest of two Muslim extremists at the Cologne-Bonn airport last week shows that German converts continue to volunteer for the jihad. Jihad is one of many problems with Islam. It is a mechanism to spread Islam and pay the armies that fight in it. Booty was how armies were paid in the 7th century.
Getting Islam to interpret Jihad as an internal struggle is against 1400 years of Islamic history and interpretation.
